What do the labels on each card mean?
U+1D400 The Unicode codepoint the style's characters come from. Two styles can look almost identical and still be different characters with different device support. The codepoint is the only reliable way to tell which one you copied.

Subscript exists in Unicode for a specific practical reason: chemical formulae. H₂O needs a lowered 2, and mathematical notation needs lowered indices. What it does not need is a full alphabet, which is why there isn't one. The characters that exist were encoded because someone needed them for notation, and the rest were never added.
Where it works, and where it breaks
The result is the most incomplete set on this site. Digits 0 to 9 are complete, which is unsurprising given the purpose. The lowercase alphabet covers roughly seventeen letters, and the missing ones, including b, d, f, g, q, w, y and z, simply pass through as plain text. There are no uppercase subscript letters at all, so capitals are left unchanged.
This tool leaves unmapped characters as they are rather than substituting near-matches, because a plain letter sitting among lowered ones is less conspicuously wrong than a character that is nearly but not quite right.
What that means practically is that subscript works well for numbers and poorly for words. A short lowered figure looks intentional; a name with four of its letters silently full-size looks broken. Check your specific text rather than assuming the style will apply to it.
Where it works

The honest uses are narrow: a chemical formula, a mathematical index, a small numeric detail in a bio where the size difference is the point. Anything requiring letters will lose several of them silently.
Superscript has the same character but better letter coverage and reads more clearly at small sizes, so if the direction does not matter, it is the better choice of the two.
Common questions
Why did half my word stay normal?
Because those letters have no subscript form in Unicode. Roughly nine lowercase letters are missing, including b, d, f, g, q, w, y and z, and no uppercase letters exist at all. They pass through unchanged rather than being substituted with something approximate.
What is this style actually for?
Chemistry and mathematics. The characters were encoded so formulae like H₂O and mathematical indices could be written as plain text. The alphabet is partial because notation never required a complete one.
