What do the labels on each card mean?

U+1D400 The Unicode codepoint the style's characters come from. Two styles can look almost identical and still be different characters with different device support. The codepoint is the only reliable way to tell which one you copied.

IGTTRB Platform support. Green renders reliably. Amber works, but breaks on some devices or in some fields. Struck through is filtered out or rejected by that platform.

Ready-made combos

The same style inside each frame. Type above and these update with it, then tap to copy the whole thing. The number is the character count, which matters if you are pasting into a field with a limit.

Superscript is the most incomplete style here, and being upfront about that is more useful than pretending otherwise. There is no superscript alphabet in Unicode. What exists is a scattering of raised characters accumulated across several blocks over decades: phonetic modifiers, mathematical exponents, ordinal indicators. That happen to share a raised appearance. A generator assembles them and works around the gaps.

Where it works, and where it breaks

Lowercase q has no superscript form at all and passes through unchanged. Several uppercase letters are missing too, including Q, S, X, Y and Z. Where a character has no raised equivalent this tool leaves it as-is rather than substituting something that looks approximately right, because a mismatched letter in the middle of raised text is more obviously wrong than a plain one.

Digits are the exception and are fully covered, which is not surprising. Superscript numbers are the whole reason most of these characters were encoded. Squared and cubed, ² and ³, are older than the rest and come from a different block entirely, which is why they occasionally render at a slightly different weight from the others.

Because the characters are small by design, this style is the least legible option here on a phone. It works for a short accent, a word, a tag, rather than anything anyone needs to read.

Where it works

Numbers and very short accents.

Digit coverage is complete, which is the one thing this style does reliably, and it is why the characters were encoded in the first place. A raised figure looks intentional everywhere.

Letters are a different matter. Lowercase q is missing entirely and several capitals are too, so a word may lose characters silently. Check your specific text rather than assuming.

At bio size the raised characters are the smallest on this site, which makes them a poor choice for anything that has to be read and a good one for a detail that should sit quietly beside something else.

Common questions

Why did some of my letters not change?

They have no superscript form in Unicode. Lowercase q is missing entirely, as are several capitals including Q, S, X, Y and Z. This tool leaves them plain rather than substituting a near-match, because a wrong-looking letter is more conspicuous than an unchanged one.

Why do squared and cubed look slightly different?

² and ³ predate most of the other superscript characters and come from a different Unicode block, so they were drawn separately and can render at a slightly different weight from the digits around them.
