What do the labels on each card mean?

U+1D400 The Unicode codepoint the style's characters come from. Two styles can look almost identical and still be different characters with different device support. The codepoint is the only reliable way to tell which one you copied.

IGTTRB Platform support. Green renders reliably. Amber works, but breaks on some devices or in some fields. Struck through is filtered out or rejected by that platform.

Ready-made combos

The same style inside each frame. Type above and these update with it, then tap to copy the whole thing. The number is the character count, which matters if you are pasting into a field with a limit.

Bubble letters, Unicode calls them circled, come from Enclosed Alphanumerics, a block built for a practical purpose rather than a decorative one: numbered lists, diagram callouts, keyboard legends and map keys, where a character needs to be visually separated from the text around it. Uppercase begins at U+24B6. The bubble look people want them for now is a repurposing of a technical convention.

One distinction worth making, because it catches people out: these are typed characters you paste, not letters you draw. If you searched for bubble lettering wanting to hand-draw them in a notebook, this is the wrong tool, you want a tutorial. If you want them in a bio or a username, this is exactly it.

Where it works, and where it breaks

The digits are where the block shows its age. Circled 1 through 9 run consecutively from U+2460, but zero is not among them. It sits alone at U+24EA, added later, well outside the run. Any tool that assumes the digits are contiguous produces an off-by-one error and renders your 1 as a 2. It is a small thing that is easy to get wrong and easy to spot once you know to look.

Support is broad, since the block is old and widely used outside decoration. The real limitation is size. The enclosing ring is the defining feature and the first thing to disappear when a device draws the character small: at bio size on a phone, several letters lose the gap between ring and letterform and read as smudges. It is a style that works better in a short prominent string than a full line.

A filled variant exists using solid circles with knocked-out letters, which is heavier still and covers uppercase only.

Common questions

Why does zero look different from the other digits?

Because it was added separately. Circled 1 to 9 run consecutively from U+2460, but circled zero sits at U+24EA, well outside that run. Tools that assume the digits are contiguous shift everything by one and render 1 as 2.

Why is it hard to read on my phone?

The enclosing ring is what defines the style and it is the first detail lost when a character is drawn small. At bio size the gap between the ring and the letter inside can close up. It suits short prominent strings better than full lines.
