Spacing options double your character count. On a 150-character bio that matters.

What do the labels on each card mean?

U+1D400 The Unicode codepoint the style's characters come from. Two styles can look almost identical and still be different characters with different device support. The codepoint is the only reliable way to tell which one you copied.

IGTTRB Platform support. Green renders reliably. Amber works, but breaks on some devices or in some fields. Struck through is filtered out or rejected by that platform.

Ready-made combos

The same style inside each frame. Type above and these update with it, then tap to copy the whole thing. The number is the character count, which matters if you are pasting into a field with a limit.

Fullwidth characters became the signature look of vaporwave aesthetics entirely by accident. They exist because East Asian typesetting places every character in a fixed square cell, and Latin letters appearing in Japanese or Chinese text need to occupy the same square as the surrounding characters rather than their natural narrower widths. Unicode encoded a fullwidth Latin alphabet at U+FF21 for exactly that purpose. The spaced-out look that made it an aesthetic signature is a side effect of a typesetting requirement.

Where it works, and where it breaks

The practical property to plan around is width. Each character occupies roughly double the horizontal space of its normal equivalent. A line that fits comfortably in a bio will wrap when converted, sometimes taking two lines where you budgeted one. On Instagram, where the bio is 150 characters across a limited number of visible lines, that difference can quietly break a layout you had arranged carefully.

Coverage is complete across both letter cases and digits, and support is good, since the block has been in the standard for a long time and is essential to CJK text rendering rather than decorative.

Used on a single short line it is striking. Used across a whole bio it becomes difficult to read and consumes the vertical space that made the bio worth composing.

Where it works

One short line, and nothing longer.

The built-in spacing is the entire effect and the entire problem. It reads as deliberate across four or five characters and becomes exhausting across a sentence, both to look at and to read.

The width cost is the thing to plan around. Each character still counts as one against a limit, but occupies roughly double the space, so a fullwidth line wraps far earlier than its count suggests and can quietly consume two lines of a bio you had arranged carefully.

Digits are covered, which is unusual and useful if the line contains a year.

Common questions

Why does my text wrap earlier in this style?

Fullwidth characters occupy roughly twice the horizontal space of normal ones. The visible length is unchanged, but the line is physically about twice as wide, so it wraps sooner than the count suggests.

Why is it called fullwidth?

Because in East Asian typesetting a character occupies a full square cell. Latin letters appearing in Japanese or Chinese text need to fill that same cell rather than their natural narrower width, so Unicode encoded fullwidth versions of the Latin alphabet. The aesthetic use came much later.
