What do the labels on each card mean?
U+1D400 The Unicode codepoint the style's characters come from. Two styles can look almost identical and still be different characters with different device support. The codepoint is the only reliable way to tell which one you copied.
IGTTRB Platform support. Green renders reliably. Amber works, but breaks on some devices or in some fields. Struck through is filtered out or rejected by that platform.

The same style inside each frame. Type above and these update with it, then tap to copy the whole thing. The number is the character count, which matters if you are pasting into a field with a limit.
Bold script is the most-used decorative style in social bios, and its popularity is not an accident of fashion. Where plain script has to borrow eleven characters from an older Unicode block and shows the seams, bold script starting at U+1D4D0 is fully contiguous. Every letter comes from the same design, added at the same time, for the same purpose. It simply looks more finished, and that is why it won.
Where it works, and where it breaks
Both letter cases are complete with no reserved positions, so there are no substitute characters to notice. Digits are not covered, so numbers in your text remain plain. Worth knowing if you are styling a name that contains a year.
The weight is what makes it work at bio size. Cursive letterforms lose definition when rendered small, and the extra stroke weight here keeps the letters distinguishable where plain script starts to blur. On a phone, where most people will see it, that difference is the whole argument.
The limitation is legibility across length. Bold script reads well across a name or a short phrase and becomes tiring across a full sentence, because cursive letterforms are harder to parse quickly than upright ones. It also cannot be searched. A name in bold script is a different string from the plain version, so anyone typing your name normally will not match it.
Where it works
Names and short phrases, which is exactly where it is used.
Cursive letterforms lose definition at small sizes, and the extra weight here is what keeps them legible where plain script blurs. On a phone, where most people will see it, that difference decides whether the style works at all.
Across a full sentence it becomes tiring, because joined letterforms are slower to parse than upright ones. One line reads as considered; a paragraph reads as hard work.
Digits are not covered, so a name containing a year will come out half styled.
Common questions
Why is this style more popular than plain script?
It renders more evenly. Plain script borrows eleven characters from an older Unicode block and those letters sit slightly differently from the rest. Bold script has no borrowed characters at all, and the extra weight holds definition better at the small sizes phones display bios at.
Can I use it for my whole bio?
You can, but it works against you. Cursive is harder to read at length than upright letterforms, and the effect that makes one styled line stand out disappears when every line is styled. One line usually reads as more deliberate than five.
