What do the labels on each card mean?

U+1D400 The Unicode codepoint the style's characters come from. Two styles can look almost identical and still be different characters with different device support. The codepoint is the only reliable way to tell which one you copied.

IGTTRB Platform support. Green renders reliably. Amber works, but breaks on some devices or in some fields. Struck through is filtered out or rejected by that platform.

Ready-made combos

The same style inside each frame. Type above and these update with it, then tap to copy the whole thing. The number is the character count, which matters if you are pasting into a field with a limit.

Cyrillic style swaps Latin letters for Cyrillic ones that look nearly identical: Ес for Ec, Р for P, Н for H. The resemblance is much closer than Greek's, which is precisely what makes it both effective and the style that needs the clearest warning.

Where it works, and where it breaks

Coverage is the best of the lookalike families, because Cyrillic shares more letterforms with Latin than any other script. Most of the alphabet substitutes convincingly in both cases. Digits are not covered.

Support is excellent. Cyrillic is used by hundreds of millions of people daily and every mainstream font covers it.

That closeness is the problem as well as the appeal. Because Cyrillic а and Latin a are visually indistinguishable in most fonts, this is the substitution most associated with domain spoofing and filter evasion, and it is the one platforms watch for most closely.

The closeness is the problem as well as the appeal. Because Cyrillic а and Latin a are visually identical in most fonts, this is the substitution behind domain spoofing and the one platforms watch for most closely. A moderator seeing mixed Cyrillic and Latin in a name generally assumes it is deliberate concealment, because usually it is.

For a screen reader the effect is stark: your name is read as Russian. Not as decorated English, not character by character, as a different language.

Common questions

Why does this look more convincing than the Greek style?

Because Cyrillic shares more letterforms with Latin than Greek does. Several characters are visually identical in most fonts, which is what makes the substitution clean, and also what makes it the version platforms scrutinise most.

Will people be able to find me in search?

No. These are genuinely different letters, so a name in Cyrillic style will not match anyone typing the Latin version. If being findable matters, keep a plain version somewhere in the profile.

Is it treated differently from other styles?

Sometimes. Because near-identical Cyrillic characters are the classic technique for impersonation and filter evasion, some platforms flag them in names where they would ignore a mathematical bold. Used openly it is fine; used to disguise something it is not.
