Currency symbols, copy and paste

Tap any symbol to copy it. 34 characters, each one verified against the Unicode database.

Ready-made combos

Tap to copy the whole arrangement. These are the framed forms people use in bios, built from characters that are checked the same way the grid above is.

Dividers and borders

Box-drawing characters join without gaps when repeated, which is what makes these read as one rule rather than a row of dashes. Each character counts against your limit, so a long divider is an expensive piece of decoration.

In a bio

Three lines you can adapt. Replace the words and keep the spacing.

Currency marks from the Currency Symbols block plus the older ones encoded in Latin-1. Support varies more than you might expect. The older symbols are universal, while recently added national currencies are missing from some fonts.

Old symbols work everywhere, new ones do not

The pound, dollar, cent and yen signs have been in Unicode since the beginning and before that in every character set going back decades. They render on anything.

The Currency Symbols block added later entries as new currencies appeared, and coverage of those tracks how recently they arrived. The Indian rupee sign at U+20B9 was added in 2010 and is missing from some older Android fonts. Newer national currencies are patchier still.

Why this matters for a shop bio

Currency symbols usually appear in bios that are doing commercial work: prices, shipping notes, which markets you serve. That is exactly the context where a broken character costs you something real, because a customer who cannot read your price does not ask.

If you sell internationally, three-letter codes are duller and safer. GBP always renders. £ nearly always does. ₹ mostly does.

The generic currency sign

The character at U+00A4 is the generic currency placeholder, a circle with four spokes. It means "some currency, unspecified", and it appears in bios by accident more often than on purpose, usually when a device could not render the intended symbol.

Seeing it is a sign something failed, not a design choice.

Common questions

Why do some currency symbols show as boxes?

Support tracks age. The older symbols are in every font, but recently added national currencies are missing from some: particularly on older Android builds and in narrow web fonts.

Can I use these in a bio?

Yes, and they are common in shop bios for signalling which currencies you price in. The safest are the long-established ones; check anything recent on a second device before relying on it.
